School facilities include two elementary schools (PreK-5), one middle school (6-8) and one high school (9-12). Student to teacher ratio is 15.7 to 1 with 96% of graduating students going on to higher education.
There are several recreational areas throughout Norwell offering a variety of outdoor activities throughout the year for boating and canoeing, walking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, skating.
The performing arts are well represented in Norwell which boasts the award-winning Company Theatre which provides high-quality theatre at an affordable price, and education and training in the performing arts. The Dreamchasers theater school provides instruction for ages 6 through adult, and the James Library & Center for the Arts hosts concerts and performances, art exhibits, music instruction, and special events in addition to is small circulating library.
The North River, which doubles as the town's southern border, is a popular place for fishing, canoeing, kayaking and boating.
